4 Days Cambodia: The Full Picture
This is Dhesu's best-selling Cambodia package and the one we recommend most often for first-time visitors from Malaysia. Four days gives you everything Siem Reap has to offer without the compressed feeling of a three-day itinerary: time to explore the city properly on arrival, a full unrushed day at the Angkor temples, and an entire morning on Tonle Sap Lake.
The Angkor temple circuit is the reason most people come to Cambodia, and Day 2 covers it completely: Angkor Wat at its most photogenic, the great walled city of Angkor Thom with its 200-faced Bayon, Ta Prohm with its tree roots and Tomb Raider filming locations, and Pre Rup for the most celebrated sunset in Asia.
Day 3 adds what makes this package different from the basic three-day version: Tonle Sap Lake. Southeast Asia's largest freshwater lake lies 15 kilometres south of Siem Reap and fills dramatically each monsoon season. The boat cruise through Chong Kneas into the floating village communities — floating schools, floating churches, families living their entire lives on the water — is one of the most memorable experiences Cambodia offers. The afternoon continues with Artisan D'Angkor, where traditional Khmer craftsmanship in silk, lacquer, silver and stone is preserved and demonstrated.

Why This 4-Day Cambodia Package Stands Apart

Angkor Wat & The Full Temple Circuit
The world's largest religious monument in a full unrushed day. Angkor Wat at sunrise, Angkor Thom's 54-towered Bayon, the jungle-reclaimed Ta Prohm, and the Pre Rup sunset pyramid. Your guide explains not just what you're seeing but why it was built, what happened to it, and why it survived.

Tonle Sap Lake — Southeast Asia's Largest Freshwater Lake
A morning boat cruise from Chong Kneas into a world most tourists never see. Floating villages of 3,000-5,000 people where houses, schools, churches and markets all sit on the water. The lake rises 9 metres every monsoon season, forcing entire communities to migrate. The wildlife — migratory waterbirds, freshwater dolphins, endemic species — is equally remarkable. Nothing quite like this exists elsewhere in Southeast Asia.

Artisan D'Angkor — Khmer Craftsmanship Preserved
Established in 1992 to preserve traditional Khmer arts threatened with extinction, Artisan D'Angkor employs over 1,000 craftspeople working in silk weaving, lacquerware, stone and wood carving, and silver jewellery. The workshop tour shows artisans at work on the same techniques used to build and decorate Angkor's temples. The attached showroom is the best place in Cambodia to buy quality handmade souvenirs.

Traditional Khmer Dance Dinner
An evening cultural performance of traditional Apsara dance — the sacred dance of the Khmer kingdom depicted in hundreds of bas-reliefs across the Angkor temples. Performed by trained dancers in elaborate classical costume to the music of traditional instruments, this is one of Cambodia's most distinctive cultural experiences. Combined with a Khmer buffet dinner, it is the ideal close to the Angkor day.

4 Day Cambodia Tour Package from Malaysia
A 4-day Cambodia tour from Malaysia is the ideal first visit: long enough to see the full Angkor circuit without rushing, and to include Tonle Sap Lake — which many first-time visitors are surprised to discover is as memorable as the temples. Four days is the most popular duration for Malaysian travellers visiting Cambodia, and this package covers everything that makes Siem Reap worth the journey.
The combination of the Angkor temple circuit on Day 2 and the Tonle Sap Lake cruise on Day 3 is why this is consistently our best-selling Cambodia package. Each experience is extraordinary on its own terms. Together they give you a complete picture of what Cambodia is — ancient stone kingdom and living water world.
Tonle Sap Lake: What to Expect
Tonle Sap Lake is Southeast Asia's largest freshwater lake and one of the most productive inland fisheries on earth. The lake is fed by the Mekong River and reverses its flow each year: in the wet season (June to October) water flows from the Mekong into the lake, expanding it from 2,500 to 16,000 square kilometres. In the dry season the flow reverses, draining back into the Mekong and concentrating the fish catch.
The floating villages that cluster around the lake's edges are permanent communities that migrate seasonally with the water levels. A boat cruise from Chong Kneas takes you through these communities — floating schools, floating churches, floating petrol stations and floating restaurants. Children paddle dugout canoes alongside your boat. It is unlike anything else in the region.
Best Hotels in Siem Reap for This Package
Siem Reap's hotel district clusters around the Siem Reap River, within easy reach of the Old Market and a short drive from the Angkor Archaeological Park entrance. The 3-star options (Holy Angkor, Kouprey) are clean, comfortable and well-located. The 4-star options (Somadevi, Angkor Holiday) add pool access and more refined dining. The 5-star Angkor Miracle Resort offers the best views and facilities in the city.
For most first-time visitors, the 4-star option at RM1,688 per person represents the best value — good facilities without the premium of the 5-star tier, and the location is just as convenient.
