It Makes You Feel Small
in the Best Way.
Stand at Phewa Lake as the first light turns Machapuchare gold above the water. Walk medieval squares that have not changed in six centuries. Hear the bells of Pashupatinath over the Bagmati River. Nepal is not scenery. It is an experience that stays with you for life.

Where the Spiritual, Physical and Natural All Meet
Nepal draws adventurers, obviously. But it also draws people who simply want to be somewhere that feels genuinely different from everywhere else they have been.

Kathmandu at the World's Crossroads
Joyfully chaotic streets that open suddenly into courtyards with ancient temples. Medieval Durbar Square, the sacred cremation ghats of Pashupatinath, the watching eyes of Boudhanath Stupa, and the 365 steps up to Swayambhunath, the Monkey Temple.

Pokhara and the Sarangkot Sunrise
On a clear day Phewa Lake holds the Annapurna range upside down in still water. Drive up Sarangkot in the dark and watch the peaks catch first light and burn gold while the valley sleeps below. One of the best ten minutes in travel.

Trekking for Every Level
You do not need to be a mountaineer. A three-day walk into the Annapurna foothills means teahouses, dal bhat and views from magazines. For the experienced, Annapurna Base Camp takes 7 to 12 days and Everest Base Camp 12 to 14.

Chitwan: Rhinos in the Jungle
In the southern lowlands the mountains vanish into subtropical jungle and elephant grass. Chitwan protects the greater one-horned rhino and is home to Bengal tigers, gharials and 500+ bird species. Most visitors never know it is there.
Where to Go and Why
Most Nepal trips link the Kathmandu Valley, the Pokhara lakes and a Himalayan viewpoint, with Chitwan as a wild lowland add-on.

Kathmandu
HistoricThe historic capital, packed with UNESCO temples, stupas and ancient squares. Joyfully chaotic, and every Nepal trip starts here.

Pokhara
RelaxedSerene lakeside town beneath the Annapurna range. Phewa Lake boating, Sarangkot sunrises and the gateway to the great treks.

Nagarkot
ScenicA hill station at 2,200 metres with a 200-kilometre arc of the Himalaya, Everest included, from the viewing tower. Stay overnight for the sunrise.

Chitwan
WildSubtropical lowland national park. Jeep safaris, Rapti River canoe trips and Tharu villages — a complete change of pace from the peaks.

Kathmandu & Pokhara
ClassicNepal's two essential destinations in one trip. Ancient temples in the capital, then Phewa Lake and the Annapurna sunrise in Pokhara.

Muktinath
SacredSacred shrine at 3,800 metres above the ancient Mustang Valley, revered by Hindus and Buddhists. Reached by a short flight from Pokhara.
Best Time to Visit Nepal from Malaysia
Clear mountain views depend heavily on season, so timing matters more in Nepal than almost anywhere. Kathmandu and Chitwan can be visited year-round.
Autumn
Most PopularOctober to December
The clearest air of the year after the monsoon, with crisp skies and the best Himalayan views. Prime trekking and sightseeing season.
Spring
Rhododendron BloomsMarch to May
Clear skies and hillsides covered in rhododendron blooms. The second prime window for trekking and mountain views.
Monsoon Season
Culture & ChitwanJune to September
