This three-day itinerary is built around one goal: seeing Angkor properly. Most visitors to Cambodia come specifically for the Angkor Archaeological Park, and this package gives you everything the park contains — the main Angkor Wat temple, the walled royal city of Angkor Thom, the face-tower Bayon, the jungle-reclaimed Ta Prohm, and the pyramid sunset temple of Pre Rup — without rushing any of it.

Angkor Wat — The World's Largest Religious Monument
Built by Khmer King Suryavarman II in the early 12th century, Angkor Wat covers more than 400 acres. The 350-metre causeway approach over the moat, the bas-relief galleries depicting 800 metres of carved Hindu mythology, and the five lotus towers at the centre rising 65 metres — this is one of the greatest architectural achievements in human history. A full morning here barely scratches the surface.
Angkor Thom & The Bayon — The Great Royal City
Angkor Thom is not a temple but a walled royal city covering nine square kilometres. Enter through the South Gate's causeway flanked by 54 stone gods and 54 demons. At the city's centre, the Bayon temple rises with 54 towers each carved with four enormous smiling faces — over 200 faces gazing in all directions. The Terrace of Elephants and the Terrace of the Leper King complete this extraordinary complex.
Ta Prohm — The Tomb Raider Temple
Built in 1186 as a Buddhist monastery, Ta Prohm was deliberately left partly unrestored. Massive silk-cotton and strangler fig tree roots have been allowed to remain exactly as they were found — splitting stone walls, lifting flagstones, and creating the famous scenes that appeared in Lara Croft: Tomb Raider. Unlike the carefully restored temples nearby, Ta Prohm feels like a genuine rediscovery.
Pre Rup — The Classic Angkor Sunset
A Hindu pyramid of brick, laterite and sandstone built in 961 AD. Pre Rup rises on three tiers to five lotus towers at the summit. Every evening, visitors climb to the upper level to watch the sun drop behind the jungle to the west, with the entire Angkor plain stretching out in all directions. It is one of the most consistently rewarding hours of any Cambodia trip.

Cross to Angkor Thom via the South Gate — the causeway of gods and demons guarding a nine-square-kilometre royal city. The process is straightforward and takes around 15-30 minutes on arrival.

Is 3 Days Enough for Cambodia?
Three days is the minimum recommended for a Cambodia visit and is entirely sufficient for a thorough, meaningful Angkor experience. The park itself is not rushed in a single day if your focus is the main circuit — Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom, Ta Prohm, and Pre Rup. You will not cover every temple in the complex, but you will see everything that matters most.
