4 Days in Central Vietnam. Golden Bridge, Ancient Town & Dragon Fire.
Three of Central Vietnam's most distinct experiences in four days. Ba Na Hills' Golden Bridge — two giant stone hands lifting a gold pedestrian walkway through mountain cloud at 1,400 metres. UNESCO Hoi An, the best-preserved ancient trading port in Southeast Asia. And Da Nang's Dragon Bridge, breathing fire and water on weekend nights. Central Vietnam's greatest hits, arranged properly.

4 Days Central Vietnam: Danang, Ba Na Hills & Hoi An
This four-day package covers the three sites that define Central Vietnam for most visitors from Malaysia: the extraordinary mountain resort of Ba Na Hills, the UNESCO-listed Ancient Town of Hoi An, and Da Nang's coastline and city — all from a single hotel base in Da Nang.
Ba Na Hills occupies a 1,487-metre ridge 25 kilometres west of Da Nang. The French built it as a hill station in the 1920s; Sun World rebuilt it in 2009 as Vietnam's most ambitious theme resort. The Golden Bridge — opened in 2018, designed with two enormous stone hands lifting a pedestrian walkway through the clouds — has become the most photographed image in Vietnam and one of the most shared in the world. The all-inclusive Sun World combo covers the cable car, the French village, all attractions, and the buffet lunch.
Hoi An, 30 kilometres south of Da Nang, is the most intact historic trading port in Southeast Asia. Its Old Town — lantern-lit, traffic-free, and remarkably preserved — was a stopping point for Chinese, Japanese, Dutch, and Portuguese merchants from the 15th to 17th centuries. The architecture reflects all of them. The bamboo basket boat ride at Cam Thanh Village, a wetland ecosystem just outside the town, provides a different angle on the local fishing culture that has sustained the community for centuries.

Why This 4-Day Central Vietnam Package Stands Apart

Golden Bridge — Ba Na Hills' Global Icon
Opened in 2018, the Golden Bridge at Ba Na Hills has been shared more than almost any image from Southeast Asia — two enormous weathered stone hands lifting a gilded pedestrian walkway 1,400 metres above sea level, through mountain cloud that drifts across the path. The effect is theatrical and genuinely startling in person. The Sun World resort around it includes a French village, a fantasy garden, cable car with panoramic views across the Da Nang coastline, and a 12th-century château recreation that wouldn't look out of place in Burgundy.

Hoi An Ancient Town — UNESCO Living Heritage
Hoi An was the most important trading port in Southeast Asia from the 15th to 18th centuries — Chinese, Japanese, Dutch, and Portuguese merchants built their own quarters in the town and left their architectural fingerprints. The Japanese Covered Bridge, built in 1593, links the Japanese and Chinese quarters over a small canal. Tan Ky Old House (200 years old) has Japanese balcony carvings on the ground floor and Chinese plasterwork on the upper. The Fujian Assembly Hall was built by the Fujian Chinese community in 1757. The guided walking tour covers all of this with context that makes the layers of history legible.

Basket Boat Ride — Cam Thanh Village
The traditional coracle — a round woven bamboo boat sealed with resin — is one of the most distinctive craft of the Hoi An fishing community, originally developed to evade French colonial fishing taxes (round boats had no clear bow or stern and therefore couldn't be classified as taxable fishing vessels). The Cam Thanh coconut palm wetland, 3 kilometres from Hoi An, is the place to experience it: local fishermen navigate the narrow water channels through nipa palm forest, then spin the boat in place as a demonstration of the technique that takes years to master.

Dragon Bridge — Weekend Fire & Water Show
Da Nang's Dragon Bridge is a 666-metre pedestrian and vehicle crossing over the Han River, shaped as a yellow dragon with a head and tail on opposite banks. Every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at 9pm, the dragon breathes fire and sprays water from its mouth — a spectacle visible from the riverside promenade and surrounding restaurants. It is both a genuine piece of infrastructure (cars drive over it daily) and Da Nang's most crowd-pleasing evening ritual.

Central Vietnam — Arranged by Malaysia's Trusted Agency Since 1988
Central Vietnam is one of Dhesu's most popular destinations for Malaysian travellers. Our guides know the Ba Na Hills timings (the Golden Bridge is clearest early morning before the cloud builds), which areas of Hoi An to visit first, and how to navigate the basket boat operators who give the most authentic experience. Every detail is arranged so your four days are completely smooth.

4 Day Danang Hoi An Ba Na Hills Tour from Malaysia
A 4-day Da Nang, Hoi An, and Ba Na Hills tour from Malaysia is the most efficient way to experience Central Vietnam's three signature attractions. Da Nang is the gateway — a coastal city with excellent flight connections from Kuala Lumpur, a good hotel infrastructure, and enough of its own attractions (Marble Mountains, Dragon Bridge, My Khe Beach) to warrant a day of its own. Ba Na Hills, 45 kilometres inland, has become Vietnam's most photographed destination since the Golden Bridge opened in 2018. Hoi An, 30 kilometres south, is the destination that makes Central Vietnam a complete experience.
The four-day format works because all three destinations are within 45 kilometres of Da Nang — there is no long inter-city transit. You stay in one hotel throughout and day-trip to Ba Na Hills and Hoi An on separate days. This is the most popular Central Vietnam itinerary for Malaysian visitors.
Is the Ba Na Hills Sun World Cable Car Worth It?
The Ba Na Hills cable car is included in the Sun World combo and is part of what makes the resort remarkable: the gondola system holds multiple world records (including steepest gradient and longest single-rope section) and the views across the Da Nang coastline, visible through the cloud on the ascent, are outstanding. The Golden Bridge at the top — the most-shared travel image from Vietnam in 2018 and 2019 — is genuinely impressive in person. The French Village and château reconstruction that surround it are theatrical in a way that either delights or amuses, depending on your tolerance for theme resort aesthetics. The buffet lunch is hearty. Most visitors spend 5–7 hours on the mountain.
