Five Days Covering Bali and Its Most Dramatic Island Neighbour
Nusa Penida is Bali's most spectacular day trip — and this five-day package dedicates an entire day to it. The fast boat from Sanur Beach takes roughly 30-45 minutes to reach the island, where Kelingking Beach (the T-Rex rock viewpoint), the natural sea-pool of Angel Billabong, the arch of Broken Beach, and the clear waters of Crystal Bay each occupy a different corner of this rugged, undeveloped island. The scenery is unlike anything else in the Bali archipelago.
The remaining four days cover Bali's greatest landmarks in a logical sequence: Uluwatu's clifftop and optional Kecak Dance on arrival, the full Ubud highland circuit on day two, Bedugul's Floating Temple and Tanah Lot on day three, and the Nusa Penida fast boat on day four. Day five is a relaxed departure. For travellers who want both Bali and its most photogenic island neighbour in a single private trip, this five-day itinerary is the one.

What Makes This Trip Special

Kelingking Beach — Nusa Penida's Iconic T-Rex Viewpoint
Kelingking is consistently ranked among the world's most dramatic viewpoints. The cliff formation — which from above resembles a Tyrannosaurus rex's head — plunges 200 metres to a crescent of white sand visible only from the clifftop. The deep turquoise water against the white sand against the green jungle is one of Southeast Asia's most otherworldly natural photographs.

Angel Billabong & Broken Beach
Angel Billabong is a natural infinity pool carved into the rock at the island's edge, filled with crystal-clear water that shifts between emerald and turquoise with the light. At low tide it is possible to descend into the pool. A short walk away is Broken Beach — a dramatic natural arch where the ocean has tunnelled through the clifftop, creating a circular cove with the sea visible through the stone roof.

Crystal Bay — Snorkelling and Scenic Views
Crystal Bay on Nusa Penida's west coast lives up to its name — the water is extraordinarily clear, and the bay offers some of the best snorkelling in the Bali archipelago. The calm, shallow water is home to coral gardens, reef fish, and occasionally Mola-mola (ocean sunfish) during July-October. Even without snorkelling, the bay is simply beautiful.

Uluwatu Clifftop & Optional Kecak Dance
Uluwatu's 70-metre sea cliff is the dramatic first sight of Bali for this package. The clifftop walk around Pura Luhur Uluwatu temple offers ocean views in every direction. The optional Kecak Fire Dance performed at sunset here (RM35) is one of the most atmospheric cultural performances in Southeast Asia — over a hundred performers chanting against a backdrop of the Indian Ocean turning gold.

Tegalalang Rice Terrace & Ubud Highlands
The UNESCO-listed Tegalalang subak rice terraces cascade down a river valley north of Ubud in neat emerald steps — a landscape created by the interlocking traditional irrigation system that has managed Bali's water for centuries. Combined with the Ubud Royal Palace, Traditional Market, Celuk silver village, and a highland coffee plantation, day two gives a complete picture of Bali's cultural heartland.

Tanah Lot at Sunset & Bedugul Floating Temple
Day three pairs two of Bali's most iconic landmarks. The Pura Ulun Danu Beratan appears to float on the surface of Lake Beratan in the cool Bedugul highlands, framed by mist and mountains. The day ends at Tanah Lot, where the 16th-century sea temple on its rocky islet frames one of Bali's most memorable sunset silhouettes.

Arrive Bali — Uluwatu, Optional Kecak Dance & Jimbaran Bay BBQ

Your driver-guide meets you at Ngurah Rai Airport and heads directly to Bali's southern peninsula. Melasti Beach is a photogenic first stop — a white-sand cove between towering limestone cliffs. Then up to Uluwatu for the clifftop walk and ocean views. The optional Kecak Fire Dance at sunset is available for RM35 — highly recommended if your arrival time permits. The evening ends with grilled BBQ seafood dinner at Jimbaran Bay on the beach sand. Optional candlelight dinner upgrade available (RM90).

Bali and Nusa Penida Package from Malaysia — 5 Days 4 Nights
Nusa Penida is a 30-minute fast boat ride from Sanur Beach on Bali's east coast, and it looks like a different world — dramatic limestone cliffs, wild surf, and beaches so picture-perfect they appear almost unreal. This 5-day package from Malaysia includes the full Nusa Penida island circuit (Kelingking, Angel Billabong, Broken Beach, Crystal Bay) alongside all of Bali's most important cultural landmarks in a single private tour. Valid for daily departure until 31 March 2027.
Kelingking Beach — What to Expect
Kelingking is reached via a rough cliffside viewpoint from the parking area above — no descent to the beach is included in this package as the trail is very steep and takes 30-45 minutes each way. The view from the top is the payoff: the T-Rex rock formation, the white sand crescent 200 metres below, and the extraordinary turquoise water. Most visitors find the viewpoint fully satisfying without the descent.
Why Include Nusa Penida in Your Bali Trip?
Bali receives over five million visitors per year; Nusa Penida receives a fraction of that. The island's roads are rough, the cliffs are raw, and the beaches are gloriously undeveloped — it is Bali as it was thirty years ago. Adding Nusa Penida to a Bali itinerary takes one day and adds a completely different visual dimension to the trip. For photographers and Instagram-conscious travellers, it is the single best addition available.
