Elephant bathing in Chitwan National Park Nepal
Chitwan, Pokhara & Kathmandu

8 Days Nepal. From Himalayan Peaks to Jungle Rhinos.

Nepal is two countries in one. The Himalayan north — temples, peaks and stupas — and the subtropical south — elephant grass, rhinos and river mist. This is the trip that covers both. Kathmandu's ancient UNESCO sites, Pokhara's Phewa Lake and Annapurna sunrise, then Chitwan's jungle kingdom.

About This Package

8 Days Nepal + Chitwan Wildlife Safari: The Full Picture

Most Nepal itineraries stay in the Himalayan zone — Kathmandu, Nagarkot, Pokhara. This package adds the dimension that most visitors never discover: the Terai lowlands, where the Himalaya finally meets the Indian plains and subtropical jungle grows thick along the rivers. Chitwan National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to the greatest one-horned rhino population in the world, along with Bengal tigers, gharials and over 500 bird species.

The full eight days move from Kathmandu's urban culture through Pokhara's mountain lakes to Chitwan's wild river valleys — three completely different Nepals in one journey.

Chitwan National Park Nepal jeep safari elephant

Chitwan Jungle Jeep Safari

A morning jeep safari through Chitwan's sal forest and elephant grass — the habitat of the one-horned rhino, spotted deer, langur monkeys and if luck holds, the elusive Bengal tiger. One of the best wildlife experiences in Asia.

Rapti River Chitwan Nepal canoe wildlife

Rapti River Canoe Ride

A dugout canoe drift on the Rapti River at the jungle's edge. Gharial crocodiles on the sandbanks, kingfishers on the branches and the sound of the jungle completely surrounding you. Peaceful and utterly unlike anything in Kathmandu.

Phewa Lake Pokhara Nepal Machapuchare reflection

Pokhara, Phewa Lake & Annapurna Sunrise

Before the jungle, two days in Nepal's most beautiful lake town. The Annapurna range reflected in Phewa Lake at dawn, a Sarangkot sunrise and a boat ride to the World Peace Stupa.

Chitwan National Park Tour Package from Malaysia

Chitwan National Park in Nepal's southern Terai lowlands is one of Asia's great wildlife experiences — and almost unknown among Malaysian travellers. The park protects the world's second-largest population of one-horned rhinos (after Kaziranga in India), along with Bengal tigers, gharials, wild elephants and over 500 bird species.

The combination of a Nepal Himalayan circuit with a Chitwan add-on gives you the single most complete experience of what this extraordinary country has to offer — from the high mountain world of Kathmandu and the serenity of Pokhara to the subtropical jungle of the Terai.

What to Expect at Chitwan

The park covers 952 square kilometres of sal forest, tall elephant grass and river floodplain. Jeep safaris enter the core zone in the early morning, when animals are most active. Rhino sightings are almost guaranteed in the right season. Tiger sightings are rarer but possible. The Rapti River canoe trip gives a completely different perspective — slow, quiet and intimate.

The Tharu people are the indigenous inhabitants of the Chitwan valley, and their cultural village visits and stick-dance performances are a genuine and respectful addition to the wildlife experience.
